I met Josie Bisetti at a poolside hangout in Water Mill. We struck up a conversation about her face — what else? Her skin is incredible, radiant, and taut, all of the things we aspire to. Soon, a small group had congregated, taking notes on lymphatic drainage massage, supplements, and her philosophy: “holistic work from the inside to change the outside.”
Over the past eight years, she has developed a bespoke approach that helps people tone and rejuvenate but also overcome (or regulate, as she calls it) acne, eczema, and other things that might make us feel insecure through tailored programs. Twice a month, she offers her bespoke ritual treatments at Shou Sugi Ban House, a luxury spa retreat nestled amongst trees. She drove us there to take a look.
“I have tried to leave, but I can’t leave my clients, they love me and I’m obsessed with them,” remarked Bisetti. She is a powerhouse, a confidant, and a problem solver, someone who can always make it work for you.

In September, she opened her studio in NoMad, SKIN PEACE by Josie B, where she offers her ritual facials and body treatments that lean into holistic practice and the latest technologies and developments. In her retail area, she sells tried and trusted products and a selection of luxury jewelry pieces (what we wear closest to our skin!) by New Jersey-based Jamie Kole.
You know when you find that exercise instructor, trainer, or teacher who gets you motivated and pushes you to the next level? (I remember the dance instructor who got me doing the splits in my 20s — until then, I never thought it would be possible). That is Josie, but for your skin and skincare routine.
To give you a glimpse of her skin, life, and philosophy, I asked Josie 38 rapid-fire questions.
Skin: Naked. My goal is for everyone to walk around with just SPF and no makeup.
Method: Skin mapping the face to create a bespoke tells me what is happening internally skincare routine that addresses what is happening externally.
Dermus: Protect, repair, and rejuvenate it!
Cellular Change: It’s the last skin layer and where the magic happens. I access it with a Biosonix device (a modality that delivers products to that bottom layer) and rejuvenating products.
Maintenance: NuFace, dermaplaning, microneedling, lymphatic drainage, and saunas — all work towards toning.
Exercise: Hate it! But do it.
Daily Routine: Prevention-focused. If I knew about all the non-invasive at-home tools back in the day that are available now, I would still look like I was in my 20s. But it’s never too late. I am a walking billboard of that.
Skin Rejuvenation: At night.
Collagen: Avoid sugars.
Eating: Can affect what is happening on the skin. Elevated sugar levels can create candida, which are toxins in the body. Based on skin mapping, I will know what part of the body is affected by this toxin.
Supplements: A MUST. Detoxes and brightens skin while enhancing collagen production. My fridge door is jam-packed with all kinds of supplements.
Breakfast: Nespresso and occasionally oats.
Diet: I eat out a lot. As a single woman, I tend to not cook a lot, but if I’m cooking for friends, I make delicious dishes.
Your Body: Crystals, affirmations, sound baths, saunas, and cold plunges are all rituals for me.
Botox: I do it once a year to relieve TMJ.
Surgery: Pro, I have done a full tummy tuck and two breast lifts (one every ten years. I am due again). I want a nose job!
A Night Out: Dancing at Le Bain to good house music.
A Night In: Watching competition shows like The Challenge or BRAVO cuddled up with my Persian cat Mixi (pronounced Mishi).
Feng Shui: I had a strong vision for my studio veering away from the design of most spas, the white bare space, instead I leaned into my Peruvian and New York roots to create a harmonious balance between natural and edgy. Different textures, stones, and fabrics contrast darker and lighter earth tones between the retail space and treatment area.
Gua Sha: A must. Baian stone is my favorite. Delivering higher frequency.

Peru: My spiritual motherland.
Growing Up in New York: Tough and beautiful. Concrete jungle.
Music: Bossa Nova and Boris Blenn Radio, but if I’m with a client, I follow their vibe.
Before a Session: I palo santo myself and the studio.
After a Session: Shake my body to release absorbed energy.
Chakra: I love my crystals. My treatments go beyond skin health. They regenerate and align chakras. I combine this with a beautiful sound bath and affirmations, making it a transcendent experience.
Crying: Release is important. I’m a Cancer, being in tune with my emotions is in the stars for me.
Age: Never lie. Never be embarrassed about getting older. Live life and age gracefully.
Celebrities: Halle Berry is aging gracefully — without too many invasive interventions. Also, Cher because she is the ultimate badass!
Pre-menopause: HATED IT. Did not prepare myself properly.
Menopause: LOVE IT. Once I found the perfect hormone therapy.
Intuition: Very strong. I trust and follow mine wholeheartedly.
Therapy: I have a business coach. He keeps me focused, is a great soundboard, and talks me off of a ledge now and then!
Balance: Do not be too hard on yourself, but always work towards appreciating yourself fully.
Weekend Getaway: South Hamptons or the Hudson Yards Equinox pool in summer.
My Favorite Place on Earth: New York City. I’m ride or die. But sunsets on Formentera are magical.
Love Life: Happy, single, and ready to mingle.
Pampering: For my clients, I spoil them with good skincare samples so they can go home and play with new products or use them on their boyfriends or husbands. Just love it when they come back and say: WHAT WAS THAT?!
Loyalty: I am loyal to the bone, and that is what I attract. A beautiful, loyal community.
